I recently did an upgrade on my Gentoo system, which meant it brought down the new X.org server 1.5.3 - resulting in my keyboard no longer working. The resulted in me doing some research and finding the Gentoo X.org upgrade page. This results (in culmination with the Gentoo X.org configuration page), in running the configuration tool:
# xorgcfg
The final result is a new /etc/X11/xorg.conf:
evilric@lasek /etc/X11 $ cat xorg.conf
